Remote Online & Mobile Notary Appointment Policy

Document Preparation

Please have your entire document completed, but not signed or dated, submitting only the signature page is not sufficient.

 

Punctuality

Punctuality is essential, as late arrivals can disrupt the notary’s schedule and delay the next client. To ensure fairness for all clients, a 5 minute grace period is allowed. Please arrive on time at the agreed-upon location with everything prepared.


If the signer is more than 5 minutes late, or experiences a technical issue on their end (such as poor internet, no camera access, or an unsupported device), a $25 fee will apply, and the appointment may need to be rescheduled.

 

No-Shows

Signers who do not join or respond within 5 minutes of the scheduled appointment time will be considered no-shows and must complete a new booking to reschedule.

 

Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

  • Appointments may be rescheduled once with at least 24 hours notice.

  • Reschedules with less than 24 hours notice will require a new booking.

  • Cancellations, no-shows, and incomplete signings are non-refundable.

  • Booking fees, including notarial, travel, and courier charges, are non-refundable under all circumstances, regardless of the outcome of the appointment.

Same Day Appointment Policy

For same day mobile appointments, please book at least 2 hours in advance to allow for notary travel time. For remote online appointments, book at least 1 hour in advance. If booked with shorter notice and a conflict arises, a scheduling coordinator will reach out to reschedule.

Travel Fee Policy

​For mobile notary appointments, a non-refundable travel fee is required before the notary is dispatched. Dispatch occurs when the notary begins travel to the appointment location. The travel fee is separate from notarization fees and remains non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the appointment or whether notarization is completed. Cancellations not made at least 24 hours in advance, including no-shows or client unavailability at the scheduled time, forfeit the travel fee in full.

Notarial Fee Policy

You are not required to pay the notarial fee upfront for mobile notary appointments. You may choose to add the notarial fee during booking, or pay at the time of the appointment if it was not added. If additional notarizations are needed beyond what was included, the notary will collect the remaining balance at the appointment.

Notarial Certificate Fee Policy

If your documents do not include the required State of Illinois notarial certificate or wording, an Illinois approved certificate will be added for a fee of $5 per certificate. The signer must select the appropriate certificate type, such as an acknowledgment or jurat, as notaries are not permitted to make that decision on your behalf.

Online Booking Policy

To ensure the best experience, please book your appointment online and provide all required details. This helps us gather the necessary information for your appointment. If your booking involves a real estate transaction, such as a refinance, sale, purchase, home equity line of credit, reverse mortgage, or loan modification, please choose Loan Signing so we can assign a loan signing agent to your order.

Identity Verification Policy

Please bring a valid government issued identification, such as a non expired driver's license, state identification card, or passport, to your appointment with the notary.

We accept cash, Zelle, and credit cards as payment methods.

Apostille Courier Policy

Liability Disclaimer
We are not responsible for documents that are lost, delayed, or damaged in transit by third-party carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS), or for delays caused by the Secretary of State or U.S. Department of State. Clients are responsible for providing a prepaid return shipping label with tracking.

 

Document Requirements
Ensure all documents are completed and properly prepared before submission. We are not liable for rejections due to missing signatures or incomplete paperwork.

 

Pickup Terms

Pickup and drop-off are available within the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs.  Clients must be present at the scheduled time. Missed pickups or drop-offs may result in additional fees.

An Illinois Notary Public is not authorized to practice law, provide legal advice, or accept fees for legal advice.
