Preparing for Your Remote Online Notarization
​Before Your Appointment:

Confirm Acceptance :

Make sure the receiving party accepts online notarization before your session, to avoid rejections.

Document Preparation:​

Complete all required fields

Please do not sign or date your document before the session.

Leave the notary section blank, we’ll complete it during the session.

Email the complete document in PDF format, not just the signature page to info@notaryinthecity.com

Please send it as soon as possible before your appointment to receive your session link.​

Valid ID Required

A government-issued photo ID: Driver’s License, Passport, or State Identification Card.

The ID must be current and clearly visible.

Upload a clear image of both front and back .

About 10 minutes before your appointment, click the link to complete identity verification and upload your ID.

Prepare to enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number as part of the verification process.

Answer Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) questions, which are security questions based on your personal history.

During Your Appointment:

Need to make changes? You can update fields during the session; the process will be recorded for legal compliance.

Sign & Notarize:

You’ll sign electronically when instructed.

The notary will complete the notarization and apply the official seal

The average RON session lasts 15 minutes for general notary appointments and up to 1 hour for loan closings.
